Cleaning As I Go

Summers are full of fun, sun...and messes.  And my house is the perfect example!
 

We love to entertain and host all our friends to come enjoy the beautiful weather in our backyard oasis.  Lots of barbecuing, swimming in the pool and mixing cocktails.

Global Green USA Green School Makeover Competition Presented by Pureology

Well it has officially been FOREVER since I blogged and I don't like it.  I have been far too busy doing all the things I don't like to do and not enough time doing the things I enjoy...Testing products, sharing information and writing!

Stanley is on Spring Break right now from school and even though it's only a week it always seems like when you go back to school from a break there is something different...a small upgrade or change.  So now is the perfect time to talk about the Global Green USA Green School Makeover Competition Presented by Pureology.

Everyday at home we work to make positive changes to how we live in order to continue to minimize our carbon footprints, protect our environment and reduce our energy consumption and waste.  I think it's great that Pureology is taking action and teaming up with Global Green USA to create the same environment for children in our schools.

Not only does the environment benefit, but the children do too!

How do you do Marshalls?

Kiss Ever PRO Lashes

I am no pro when it comes to applying false eyelashes and I typically don't because I hate working with the glue.  I was given a free starter kit for Kiss Ever PRO Lashes by Influenster as part of the Beauty Blogger VoxBox 2012 and I was nervous and excited all at the same time.

I've spent some time practicing putting on the lashes and working with the glue which is actually very easy to use and I'm very impressed.  I'm happy with the results I've gotten while alone in the bathroom and I've decided I'm going to wear them on Thanksgiving Day when I host my family.

I will post a pic later...but a few things I've learned:

1. Start by putting black eyeliner on your lash line.
2. Then apply mascara to your own eyelashes.
3. From here you will apply the Kiss Ever PRO Lashes
4. Once the glue has dried go over the false lash line with black eyeliner again.
5. And reapply mascara to the tips.

Mini Candle Mighty Scent-sational

Everyone knows two things about me...1) I love to have friends and family over, and 2) I LOVE to have a great smelling house.  Not just good, I want the great scent to be noticed and I want to share it.  The Mini Candles at Bath & Body Works deliver!  I first heard about these Mini Candles it was from a friend who described the Mahogany Teakwood scent as "how all men should smell".  I was tickled and surprised when I was given a sample of that very scent by Influenster as part of my Beauty Blogger VoxBox 2012.

So...yep...she was right.  This scent is more than amazing and I love the miniature candle option.  Bath & Body Works is currently offering their mini candles 2 for $5 and they are worth every penny.  The mini candle fills the room with a great scent and there are so many to choose from!  Bath & Body Works also offers 3-wick candles for a great price in the same amazing scents.

I am picking up a handful of candles for my Thanksgiving Party.  I love to place candle votives inside various sizes of vases.  They get a lot more use this way than if there are flowers and it creates a clean beautiful glow.  The only problem I can see from these candles is how to choose just a few scents!!!  ENJOY!



Beauty is in the Eyes

Have you heard of NYC New York Color?  This is a brand that I hadn't heard of in the past, but I have grown to absolutely love.  I was sent the IndividualEyes Customer Compact for Smokey Eyes and it literally comes with everything you need to create a great smokey look.  This is a pallet that consists of primer, illuminator, an applicator and four colors that compliment one another to create an easy beautiful smokey eye.

I found the color pallet very easy to use and the results I got were great!  My color transitioned easy from day to night simply by using the darkest color atop what I'd been wearing during the day.

I have spent some time checking out their website and can't wait to try the color pallet for my specific eye color.  I love makeup at affordable prices!  Check it Out at NYC New York Color
